Willa grew up in Ice Lake on the Manitoulin Island and has returned to her roots, from which she draws inspiration both as place and as memory. Willa considers the landscapes we see as well as that which is below the limestone; birds which are disappearing continue to be bittersweet subjects.

A main interest is printmaking in various forms. Formal training in this discipline was from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Willa’s linocuts, monotypes, drawings, hand-made paper and mixed media works can be viewed at The Cove Studio, 169 Main St., Kagawong.
